Montgomery Ambulance officially welcomes newest additions

The Town of Montgomery Ambulance had a wet down and 60th Anniversary Celebration on October 22.  A wet down is a ritual celebrating and blessing of new vehicles.

The ambulance corps purchased a 2022 Dodge 5500 4-Wheel-Drive Cummings Diesel ambulance, which was delivered this past summer. It’s been named “The Beast.” Additionally, the ambulance corps received a donation of $65,000 from local company Pharmacann, which allowed for the purchase a 2022 Chevy Tahoe (known as a “fly car”). The Tahoe was named “Buddy.”

The Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department wet down the new rigs with both a fire hose and a champagne shower and Coldenham Fire Company gave all of the kids a chance to help out with the watering down.

Reverend Jim Van Houten, chaplain of the Town of Montgomery Ambulance, performed a beautiful blessing ceremony.

Local municipal leaders came out to support the Ambulance including Town of Montgomery Councilwoman Kristen Brown, Supervisor Brian Maher, Deputy Supervisor Ron Feller, and Village of Montgomery Mayor Steve Brescia.

The event was sponsored by JMG Enterprises and Messco Building Supply who provided a beautiful lunch for all who attended.
