Murder-suicide in Town of Wallkill

On Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 10:34 p.m., members of the Town of Wallkill Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at 567 Route 211 East. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased males in the parking lot of the above location. The first victim was identified as Sean Armstead, a 36 year old, male, Port Jervis resident. Sean Armstead is employed as a police officer with the New York City Police Department. The second victim was identified as Edward Wilkins, a 20 year old, male, Wurtsboro resident. A Glock 19 handgun and several spent shell casings were found at the scene.

The investigation into this incident is being conducted by the New York State Attorney General’s Office and the Town of Wallkill Police Department. The investigators are being assisted by New York State Police, Orange County Sheriffs Office, City of Middletown and New York City Police Department.
