The crowning of a District 19 senior softball champion had to wait for another day.
Rain wreaked havoc with the schedule last week from Wednesday through Saturday, pushing a championship game that was originally scheduled for last Saturday to be pushed to Monday.
It was an all-local championship game as Town of Wallkill was scheduled to host Pine Bush on Monday.
Town of Wallkill only needed two wins to get to the flag game, opening the tournament with a win over Otisville/Minisink and then beating Pine Bush on Thursday.
Pine Bush opened the tournament with wins over Washingtonville and Wallkill Area before Town of Wallkill sent them to the elimination bracket.
Wallkill Area won an elimination game, beating Otisville-Minisink, but suffered elimination at the hands of Pine Bush, 12-2, on Thursday.
Pine Bush’s Minor’s softball team is already in the flag game, scheduled for Wednesday at Crawford Town Park on Red Mills Road. Now they’re waiting for a partner.
The rain has pushed a game between Goshen and Town of Newburgh-New Windsor to Monday, and the winner of that game was scheduled to play Chester on Tuesday for the opportunity to meet Pine Bush.
Pine Bush has previously beaten Chester and Goshen.
