It was a good start to the season for the Pine Bush field hockey team on Sept. 12 as they posted a 7-0 Mid Hudson Athletic League win over the Ellenville Blue Devils at Pine Bush Elementary School.

Pine Bush got all the goals it needed in the first quarter, posting three goals. They added solo goals in the second and third quarters, before tacking on two more in the fourth quarter.

Annie Rodriguez and Tristan Myers scored two goals each for Pine Bush. Jennifer Sorrentino, Ashanti Melendez and Abby Hansen each had one. Sorrentino had three assists. Myers, Kayla Suleski and Megan McCarthy had one assist each.

It was a quiet day for the Pine Bush defense as the offense spent most of the game’s 60 minutes attacking the Ellenville defense, forcing goalkeeper Hailey Bressard to make 31 saves. Pine Bush goalkeeper Grace Grant only had to make one save.

Pine Bush finished the week with a 2-1 loss to Onteora on Thursday. Raina Bickle and Abigail Nolan scored for Onteora while Suleski added a goal for Pine Bush.
