Pine Bush to honor war dead on Memorial Day

The Pine Bush Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 30 at 9 a.m.

The Pine Bush Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary wants to thank everyone who came out and supported their Indoor Yard Sale.

The Town of Crawford is happy to present the 11th Annual Pine Bush UFO Fair! It’s the only Street Fair Event where YOU can be part of the show. We always encourage visitors to attend in costume, and they definitely understand the assignment! Come by to watch, or join-in with the fantastic cosplay characters and extra-terrestrials of all shapes and sizes in attendance.

The family-friendly celebration includes free live music, kid’s activities and games, food vendors and tons of unique art, and eclectic craft vendors! Watch out for unidentified other-worldly beings walking about, surprise visitors, pop-up street performances and photo-opportunities at every turn!

Entertainment includes the hilarious and interactive Alien Game-Show; “You Bet Your Asteroid!”, and the Infamous “Best in Galaxy” Beauty Pageant! with a $500 Grand Prize Winner!

The Speaker Tent at 86 Main Street will host notable paranormal speakers and authors as they discuss Pine Bush, its UFO & Paranormal History and why we are known as such a hotspot for sightings! Sit and listen in, it’s free!! PLUS! 

The Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum & Gift Shop at 86 Main Street is open all day. This is really something to see. This event is a hoot! Please come out with friends and family to join in for the fun!!  Please direct inquiries to:  d.ragni@townofcrawford.org. 

Town of Crawford Residents Summer Camp is open to residents and non-residents, ages 4 - 15. (4 year old campers must be due to enter Kindergarten in September, and provide proof of completing a full-time pre-k program).

The Camp will  run  Monday June 27 – Friday July 29, 2022, with the exception of Monday, July 4.

Sessions run weekdays: 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Activities change up every 20 minutes and include: Kickball, basketball, parachute games, Corn Hole, tetherball, Arts & crafts time, playground time, classic board games, card games, bingo, skits & performances, scavenger hunts, nature walks, can-jam, & goofy relay races! We even play classic games like spud and duck-duck goose! We have a giant doll house, and lots of hot wheels cars &“driving” mat on site for the little ones. The summer camp is hiring counselors. You must be 16 years of age or oder. Experience working with children is preferred. Interest in assisting with summer camps, sports and recreation is a plus! The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at Circleville Middle School and on Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Pine Bush High School.  Check the district website to verify due to Covid. 
The Pine Bush Central School District will be closed on Friday, May 27  and Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. 

The Pine Bush Youth Soccer Club is now accepting on-line registrations for the Fall 2022 season.  Registration will be on-line only and is open from now until May to any student entering grades K through 12 in the fall. Games will be played on Saturdays in September and October at the local parks. The Pine Bush High School Interact Club is pleased to announce its first Annual Spring Vendor Fair! Saturday, June 4 at the Pine Bush High School. Represent your Business! Each vendor can buy a parking spot(s) for $25 each to represent their business! They will also be hosting a Tricky Tray! Please contact our Interact Club Advisor, Christina Tudisco: christina.tudisco@pinebushschools.org for information on how you can purchase a vendor spot(s) or contribute! Can’t attend? Donate! Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain Date: Sunday, June 5.

The Pine Bush Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps is in need of new members. If you can give a couple hours or more a week please call 744-5391, your life might depend on them one day. 

The Trustees of the Pine Bush Area Library meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the library.
The Catholic War Veterans meet the second Thursday of each month at their hall located on Center Street. The Catholic War Veterans, American Legion, and VFW are looking for new members.

Library news 
Children’s programs are going strong. You must register for these. They are held on Mondays and Wednesdays. Has your child ever read to our “Mocha?” She is our certified R.E.A.D.  (Reading Education Assistance Dog.)  Reading out loud helps to develop oral reading skills and confidence.  Sign up for a 15-minute time with Mocha. Oh, how she will love to see you. 845-744-5295.

Did you know that we have Pinochle on Mondays, Scrabble on Tuesdays, and Bridge on Thursdays. All games at 10 a.m. There is always room for more. Why not join us. Play, socialize, and make new friends. The coffee is on.
