Rainy Easter egg hunt in Montgomery

Despite the rainy weather, the Village of Montgomery did not postpone their Easter egg hunt this past Saturday, April 1. In fact, they posted bright and early that it would happen “rain or shine.”

This obviously set back the usual attendance, but many egg-hunters still eagerly came out to search for multi-colored eggs spread across Veterans Memorial Park.

In attendance was new village trustee Randi Picarello, former village trustee JoAnn Scheels, and PBF Cafe owner Anna Pupo, who was dressed as the Easter bunny. Many gathered for pictures with Pupo, who did not mind the photography.

There were six golden egg winners at the hunt. Dennis Van Dermark, 4, Rosalee Van Dermark, 6, Alani Miller, 5, Liam McGee, 6, Rilee Egbertson, 5, and Kayla Folchi, 5. They got to take home large baskets, filled with goodies, covered in colorful-egg themed paper.

The event was less than an hour but participants still seemed to search with smiles on their faces, especially since there were donuts up for grabs.

If you missed Montgomery’s egg hunt, make sure to attend the Village of Walden’s Easter Egg Hunt, which got postponed to Saturday, April 8 at James W. Olley Community Park at 10 a.m.
