Come wind down the summer by the Wallkill River and jam out the night at the Rhythm on the River Summer Concert Series Finale at Popp Memorial Park, Wallkill, NY. The last of this concert series will take place on Thursday, August 18 at 7 p.m. with Vito Petroccitto & Little Rock taking center stage. This one-of-a-kind band will bring their unique style of Americana swampy blues and funk, often described as an eclectic blend of Little Feat, John Fogerty, and Grateful Dead. Gather with friends and families for a night of music, dancing, and fun. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic basket and create memories under the stars.

Coming soon, Vision of Wallkill will put on a “magical” 7th Annual Weekend of Wallkill on September 23 and 24. These two days will celebrate with fun and family-friendly events for the entire community to enjoy.  The Lego Sculpture Building and Contest will kick off at the Wallkill Public Library on September 23 at 5 p.m., followed by the Fall Egg Hunt for children. The exhibition of the “Beauty of Wallkill” Art Show will open at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Shawangunk Town Hall. All lay and professional artisans are welcome to submit their paintings, photographs and other works of art. The Plein Air art pieces will also be on display for viewing before Saturday’s Silent Art Auction.  Friday evening will culminate with a yoga session and refreshments for yoga participants, artisans and viewers of the Art Show in the Town Hall lobby. Health and fitness enthusiasts are also encouraged to take part in the 30-Day Step Challenge, with two date options to start logging the steps.

The Weekend of Wallkill celebration continues Saturday, September 24 with a “Wizard Academy” show, the Plein Air Silent Art Auction, Touch A Truck, Billy Goat Bingo, a scavenger hunt, contests, games including Team Trivia, Remote-Control Car Race, and Pickle Ball demonstration. Free admission to the public, most of the events will take place on or around the Wallkill Public Library. The lawn will be dotted with a variety of booths and food vendors. Children of all ages are encouraged to wear their wizardly or magical costumes. Bakers and floral enthusiasts can also take prizes at the Apple Pie Baking and Floral Centerpiece Contests. The public is also invited to stroll through the hamlet visiting Golden Rule Thrift Shop and the Quilt Show at the Wallkill Reformed Church.
Contest rules, applications and a full list of WOW events and other upcoming events will be available on VOW’s website at visionofwallkill.com or Facebook page.  If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a vendor at WOW, call/text 845-527-6230.
