Scout Troop 02 holds Eagle Court of Honor

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my readers!
Pine Bush Boy Scout Troop 02 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for seven of their scouts who earned the Eagle Scout since the beginning of COVID. The ceremony has held on Sunday, January 8 at the Town of Crawford Community Center. The boys are John Parsells, Matthew Cerniglia, James Sturdevant, Johnathan Broadwell, Nicholas Anello, Frankie Connolly, and Troy Cohen. Congratulations to the Eagle Scouts and their parents!

Thursday, February 2 is National Ukulele Day. There will be a Ukulele Strumming Meetup at the American Legion Post 1308, 4 Martin Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information please call (845) 656-0186. Free beginner lessons available!

Remember to “think outside” the giving box…food pantries ALWAYS need items such as: fruit cups, oils, spices, soap, shampoo, deodorant, diapers, baby food, low-sodium or gluten-free items, flour, sugar, canned fish/meat/poultry, canned stews/chilis and women’s personal care items. Local food store gift cards will also be gratefully accepted. 

The Giving Tree is up and running. If you are in need of winter items or want to make a donation, stop by the Giving Tree and take what you need. It is located on Main Street, next to the UFO Museum.
 
The Town of Crawford is offering Fitness Classes. Monday 10 a.m.: Chair Yoga and Thursday 10 a.m.: Light Fitness. All equipment is provided. Classes are held in the Fitness Room on the second floor of the Town of Crawford Government Center.

The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday,January 24 at 7 p.m. at Circleville Middle School and Tuesday, February 7 at 7 p.m. at Pine Bush High School Cafeteria. The 2023/2024 budget building process will begin.

The Pine Bush Little League is now accepting registrations for the 2023 Season. All registrations are being done online through the league website at pinebushlittleleague.org.  If your child attends Pine Bush Elementary, EJR, Crispell, or the High School, you are eligible to play in the PBLL regardless of your address!  For more information, please visit the website or email:  info@pinebushlittleleague.org.

Looking to volunteer and be part of the community? Why not join the Pine Bush Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m. Stop by and join us.

Library News 
The Pine Bush Library is busy planning activities for everybody. First, we will start out with the young ones.
Storytimes continue for toddlers and preschoolers. You must be registered to attend these events, as space is limited.
Toddler time for ages 2-3 with Miss Lucy, meets on Mondays at 10:30 a.m.

Preschool story time (ages 3-5) with Miss Chrissy meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

The library is happy to have Mocha, a reading education assistance dog come to the library for children to practice their read aloud skills. The next Read with Mocha is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 26, 3 - 4 p.m. You must be registered for the slot. Please call (845) 744-3375, ext. 3.

For the adults, we are having a series of talks by Sue and Bill Wiand January 19. All programs beginning at 1 p.m. Seasonal Affect Disorder. Feeling,(blue), moody. Help to each the impact at this time of year. February 16 Honing in on your abilities. March 16 Meditation for Heath.

Feb 6 - 1:30 p.m. Knitting for all, beginners and experienced. All helping and sharing techniques.
Mondays- Pinochle at 10 a.m.

Tuesdays - Scrabble at 10 a.m.
Thursdays – Bridge at 10 a.m.
Can someone teach Majong? We want to learn.

There are tons of free books on the porch for all ages. Check it out.

We have , thanks to all, earned three benches from our plastic collection. PBE Elementary School is now collecting for a Buddy Bench on the ball field. Plastic can be dropped off in the containers that are in front of the building.
