As the weather gets warmer, there are more things happening in the Hamlet of Wallkill. Mark your calendars and plan to participate in these community events:

Saturday April 15 – Clean Sweep – Join the Clean Sweep and Vision of Wallkill teams as they clean roads leading to and around the hamlet, and the Wallkill River. Organize a team to clean the roads in your neighborhood. Strong folks are needed to help clean the banks of the Wallkill River. Students, this is a great opportunity for community service.

Saturday April 29 – Town Wide Yard Sale – it is just about 1 month away for this annual event that brings the community together as they sell and shop for bargains and collectibles. Schedule time to sort and organize unwanted items in your garage, attic, drawers and boxes so you can sell your wares in your yard. For households in apartments, with small yards or perhaps in a more remote location, consider renting a space at Popp Park for your goods. If you want to add your address to our list of yard sales, text 845-527-6230.

Saturday May 13 – Duck Derby - Vision of Wallkill and Wallkill High School’s Senior Celebration Committee will host their 2nd Duck Derby on the Wallkill River at 3 p.m. Support and watch this fun event to help benefit Wallkill’s graduating Seniors. Thousands of yellow rubber ducks will be launched into the Wallkill River at Popp Park, each contending to cross the finish line to claim a coveted “Fastest Duck” award and cash prize. Tickets to adopt a duck are available now at the Wallkill Public Library, at many local events and from members of VOW and Sr. Celebration Committee. Expert kayakers are greatly needed.

More information for all events is available on Vision of Wallkill’s Facebook page, visionofwallkill.com or call/text 845-527-6230.
