TOM distributes at-home COVID test kits

The Town of Montgomery distributed more than 4,000 COVID-19 at-home test kits to local residents on Friday in the parking lot of town hall.

“We would like to thank the dozens of volunteers who staffed Town Hall and for our volunteer drivers who delivered hundreds of tests to seniors and those under quarantine,” said Supervisor Brian Maher, who noted that the event caused traffic issues in the area near the town hall. “We absolutely recognize that the logistics involved in today’s operation were complicated and created a variety of issues. For those who were inconvenienced, we apologize.”

Maher said that residents who were unable to attend or did not receive enough test kits can register to receive test kits by visiting the town’s Facebook page.

“We will have a volunteer drop off your at-home test kit as soon as we are able. This will take some time but we believe it is the best way to disperse these tests to the general public moving forward,” Maher said. “Thank you for your understanding.”
