The Borden Home Farm was developed by John Borden in the 1880s as a model utopian farm. The ‘core farm’ consists of three historic residential buildings, a 15,000 square foot barn, 220 acres of farm, forest, and open space. It is now used by the School of Practical Philosophy for classes, events, and retreats. The Bordens were responsible for planning and building the hamlet of Wallkill and providing electricity to the area.
