Bryce DeRonda scored four goals and Dan McClure added three, leading the Valley Central boys’ lacrosse team to a 14-2 win over the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks on Friday.
McClure also had an assist for the Vikings.
Randy Rosario scored two goals, while Connor Stafford, Jack Sherry and Gavin Starr added one each.
Dylan Lasota and Anthony Gucciardo added a goal each for the Goldbacks. Billy Goldstein made an assist.

Alex Oakes made four saves for the Vikings (5-4) and NaHiem Pridgen had 12 for Newburgh.
The win snapped a string of two straight losses for the Vikings, who opened the week on May 10 with a 9-6 loss to the Cornwall dragons and a 12-6 loss to the Warwick Wildcats on Wednesday.
McClure and Rosario had three goals each in the loss to Cornwall and Starr and DeRonda each had an assist. Cameron Prutzman had nine saves.
McClure had three goals in the loss to Warwick, while Rosario added two and one assist. DeRonda had an assist, and Prutzman made 12 saves.
