The Valley Central boys’ swimming and diving team scored 10 points in the final event on Jan. 18 and forced a 90-90 tie with the Warwick Wildcats at Valley central High School.

The Vikings trailed the Wildcats by six points after the 200-yard freestyle relay and tied the Wildcats in the 100-yard breaststroke and then outscored them 10-4 in the 400-yard freestyle relay to force the tie.

The meet was previously tied after the 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard freestyle. They trailed by 10 points after the diving event and closed the gap to four points after the 100-yard butterfly.

The Vikings got two wins from Nathaniel Storaska (100-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke), and one win each from Timothy Grabinski (50-yard freestyle), Kellen Dickman (100-yard butterfly). The Vikings also won the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Vikings finished the week with a 91-87 home loss to the Cornwall Dragons.

Dickman (200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly) and Storaska (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle) each won two events. Grabinski (200-yard individual medley) won one event.

The Vikings also won the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays.
