The Valley Central boys’ swimming team won its first meet of the season on Thursday, and the first meet since the 2019-20 season in which their opponent was in the pool with them.
All of the meets during the 2020-21 season were competed virtually with each team at their own pool and the results were combined after the fact.
However, on Thursday afternoon with their opponents in the pool with them, the Vikings defeated New Paltz, 87-75, at Valley Central High School.
The Vikings got two wins each from Kellen Dickman (200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly) and Nathaniel Storaska (100-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke).
