Wallkill cross country teams top Highland

Maria Morales and Jake Craypo picked up victories on March 9 as the Wallkill boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams picked up Mid-Hudson Athletic League wins over Highland.
“We had a beautiful day for some long-awaited great competition,” Highland coach Katie Reed said.
Morales finished in 20:47.80 and Craypo finished in 16:18.40.
Erica Angelillo was the top female finisher for Highland with a 24:39.70 and Ryan Pikul led the boys’ team with a 20:21.10
Ellenville also ran in the boys’ race.

The Panthers also ran at Red Hook on Saturday morning against Dover, FDR, Mount Academy, and the Red Raiders on Saturday morning. The Mount did not compete in the girls’ race.
Mount’s Ike Blough won the boys’ race in 16:08.8 with Wallkill’s Luke Diemoz finishing second in 16:21.4.
Morales won the girls’ race with a time of 20:44.1, three seconds better than the time she posted the previous Tuesday.
