Orange County Youth Football League teams have been practicing on a near nightly basis since Aug. 1, with area training camps culminating in last weekend’s 2024 Scrimmage Weekend.
The Mighty Mite (6-7 year-olds) division practiced on Saturday morning at Minisink Valley’s home field in Otisville. Division 2 (10-12-year-olds) held their scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at Lasser Park in Salisbury Mills, home of the Washingtonville Wizards.
The oldest age group – Division 3 (12-13-year-olds) – held its scrimmage on Sunday morning at Marlboro High School. Middletown High School hosted the Division 1 (8-9-year-olds) scrimmage.
All scrimmages were about three hours and teams rotated opponents after a predetermined amount of time.
The regular season is scheduled to begin on Labor Day weekend.
