There once was an airport in New Windsor, a tract that was maintained for the landing and takeoff of aircraft and for receiving and discharging passengers.

What would dear Mr. Stewart think if he could see what his property has become. It was called Stewart Airport, hence some indifferent, unbiased people didn’t care one way or another. For years they spent money to put a name on the property, instead of drawing business on the so-called “longest airstrip of all the major airports.” Yes, some may come, but they don’t stay long, for what unknown reason.

Recently you could go through this airport and not see a single airplane anywhere. What a relief it could have been in these past few days; with all the delays at the major airports, Stewart Airport should have taken up some of the slack. It was not, weatherwise, as bad as major airports, people sleeping on floors, a really big delay. We even have a hotel on site for delays of this sort. You could just walk to it, have coffee or a restful place to sleep.

You elected people, get some action for us. Newburgh has a great bus terminal. Get it back for us. We need some help. Everything is being taken away from us, stores, many businesses. We should not have to travel to other cities for our needs. We will become a ghost town.

All of you elected officials, get together, work together for your people.

Appreciate your help.
