SUNY Orange’s 25th annual Holiday Open will conclude this weekend with self-guided tours of Morrison Hall from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15.
Nearly 500 visitors enjoyed the first weekend of the Open House this past Saturday and Sunday.
With Morrison Hall decorated by the Middletown Garden Lovers under the theme of “Holiday Enchantment with Children’s Stories,” visitors may tour the five first-floor rooms in the century old mansion on SUNY Orange’s Middletown campus.
This year, visitors are treated to holiday scenes from their favorite children’s stories, including: “Twas the Night Before Christmas” (foyer), “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland” (dining room), “Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone” (library), “Peter Pan” (Music Room) and “Ten Tiny Gingerbread Men” (salon).
In addition, the SUNY Orange Chamber Ensemble will perform at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14. Admission is free to both the Open House and concert.
The Open House is jointly sponsored by the College, the SUNY Orange Foundation and the Garden Lovers. For more information, call Sharon Hood, of the SUNY Orange Foundation, at (845) 341-4725.
