Irene Shaffer of New Windsor, a retired secretary for Tarkett of Vail Gate, , passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Sapphire Nursing Home at Meadow Hill. She was 91. The daughter of the late Frank Orzechowski and Mary Hajlow. Irene was born on April 4, 1929 in Browns Mills, NJ

She is the widow of Walter Shaffer. Irene is survived by one son Alan (Linda) Hughes, of Newburgh, NY One daughter Eileen Sharrow of New Windsor, NY one step daughter Tracey (Mark) Morrissey of Texas. 3 grandchildren: Laura (Danial) Mejias Newburgh, Nicole (Anthony) Lyons of Plattekill, and Christopher (Abby) Hedden of Wappinger’s Falls, NY, 9 great grandchildren: Tyler and Jordan Busby, Danny and Bria Mejias, Emilee Jones, Chase and Austin Lyons, Mason and Carter Hedden, 2 nieces and 3 nephews
Funeral service will be held 10am on Thursday December 31, 2020 at Hudson Valley Funeral Home 239 Quassaick Avenue New WindsorY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery New Windsor.
