Local Law enacting Exemption for Disabled Persons passed

Posted

Newburgh City Council on Monday, September 25, approved a Local Law adding Article IX entitled “Exemptions for Disabled Persons with Limited Incomes” to Chapter 270 entitled “Taxation”. This newly approved local law provides exemption for individuals with disabilities and limited incomes in the City of Newburgh. The local law passed unanimously when voted upon.

As previously reported, New York State offers various exemptions for certain classes of property owners. These individuals may be classified as disabled due to them receiving possible disability insurances or may have certificates of medical leave, for example.
