Luisa Vitolo passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on the morning of November 15, 2019. She was 89 years old. Born on December 29, 1929 in Salerno, Italy, she was the oldest daughter of the late Domenico and Giovanna Dinardi.

Luisa spent 63 happy years married to her late husband, Reziero Vitolo. A beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Luisa was an incredible and hardworking woman who valued a love of family, and a love of God above all else.

She helped her late husband own and operate four successful restaurants including Vesuvio’s Restaurant in Newburgh, New York. She could often be found cooking, making wine, gardening and singing with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Gaetana Dascoli, Anthony Vitolo, and Carmela Vitolo-Gelsomine all of Wallkill, her brother Gaetano Dinardi of Wallkill, Anthony Dinardi of Mahopac, Mario Dinardi of San Remo Italy, Ciro Dinardi of Spokan, Washington and Peter Dinardi of Mahopac, her grandchildren Anthony Vitolo, Donald Babcock, Vito and Michael Dascoli, Gabriella and Giovanna Gelsomine, and her great-grandchildren Tristan Vitolo, Julianne Vitolo, Lilly Vitolo, Emma Vitolo, Elia Dascoli and Mason Slaughter.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her sister Maria DeFilippo, her daughter Maria Vitolo and her grandson Joseph Vitolo.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 20 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum.
