Meadow Hill School celebrated Veterans Day on Thursday, November 9, with their annual Veterans Day Breakfast. The event was a touching and heartwarming tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country.

The day began with students from Meadow Hill School gathering in the cafeteria, where they served apple juice, water and coffee to the veterans in attendance. Each table was adorned with a spread of muffins and bagels, setting the scene for a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Before breakfast was served, the students recited the Pledge of Allegiance, standing united in their respect for the nation’s veterans. Following this touching moment, the youngest members of the Meadow Hill School community, the kindergarten, first, and second graders, took to the stage to sing heartfelt songs in honor of the veterans.

The breakfast was a true community effort, with the students themselves taking on the role of servers, expressing their gratitude and respect for the veterans. Principal Steve Prokosch extended his heartfelt thanks to everyone in attendance, emphasizing the significance of the event in the school’s calendar.

As a symbol of gratitude, each veteran was presented with a rose and personal letters written by the students. These letters were filled with heartfelt thanks, stories of admiration, and expressions of appreciation for the sacrifices made by these veterans. The emotional exchange was a powerful reminder of the enduring connection between generations.

Following the breakfast, as the veterans left the school, they were given a heartwarming send-off. Students lined the hallways, clapping and thanking the veterans for their service. Many students handed over additional letters they had written for the occasion, offering personal tributes to the brave men and women.

The annual Veterans Day Breakfast at Meadow Hill School serves as a reminder of the importance of showing appreciation and respect to those who have served in the armed forces. The event is a heartfelt way for the school and its students to say “Thank You” to the veterans who have come to mean so much to our community.
