Sadie Tallie of Newburgh was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday, September 12 awarded by True Insight Inc. and the Black History Committee of the Hudson Valley.
City of Newburgh residents, community members, members of the Black History Committee, elected officials and members of Tallie’s congregation joined and celebrated the life and legacy of Tallie.
Tallie has been a longtime resident of the Newburgh area, with over 60 years of service to the community and to the youth of Newburgh. She has been involved with the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., created the Coalition for People’s Rights[CPR], created the RACE program and has also been a longtime member of the Mount Carmel Church of Christ congregation and the Black History Committee of the Hudson Valley.
