Newburgh’s International Festival caps off summer

The summer season in the City of Newburgh came to a close with the annual celebration of the International Festival during the Labor Day weekend with rides, food and good family fun. The International Festival in the city celebrated its 34th year.

The International Festival was held again at Delano-Hitch Park with returning rides such as the Sizzler and Remix, drawing in kids and their parents and teens to brave them. A giant slide, several obstacle courses, a roller coaster, spinning swings and dragons and a high-traveling ride known as the Paratrooper kept families entertained.

As the sun began to set on each of the days of the festival, more and more families and patrons came to the event, and carnival lights lit up the park adding to the excitement. Families also enjoyed bumper cars, fair and home cooked food and carnival games to win prizes. Funnel cake and other fried foods could be smelled during the evening.
