NYS DOT has abandoned Orange County

Have you all taken notice of our state highways? Whether you drive Routes 84, 17K, 208, 207, 52 or 32, you are driving at your own risk to yourself or damage to your vehicle. In my over 60 years of being a resident of Orange County, I have never seen such POOR conditions to our roads. It is hard to find a DOT crew filling in potholes along these State Roads. It is the talk of my network of friends. We joke that there are better road conditions in Beirut. It is sad to say, but the NYS DOT should be ashamed of themselves. Residents in NYS pay massive amount of taxes. Exodus from NY is at an all time high, partly because our tax dollars do not reflect its worth.

The massive Infrastructure bill passed two years ago gave the NYS Department of Transportation $2.2 billion dollars. Why has this money NOT been spent repairing Orange County’s crumbling infrastructure? Why are our leaders in Orange County NOT demanding accountability? I met with Senator Rolison’s Deputy District Director on this matter six weeks ago, crickets.

WE THE PEOPLE need to demand action! Or you can just pour your tax money into a state that simply doesn’t give a damn what you think!
