Race based discrimination in housing

It’s no secret that the Hudson Valley is in the middle of an urgent housing crisis that’s pricing our community members out of the area. One would hope that our elected officials in Albany, who were sent there to represent us, would take swift action to do everything they could in order to make our region more affordable and keep people in their homes. I’ve recently learned that sadly for us, that is not the case when it comes to our newly elected State Senator, Rob Rolison. He voted against $391 million dollars for renters to pay landlords back their rent, and a bill that would fight race based discrimination in housing. Republicans, like Rolison, choose to spread misinformation that people are fleeing our state because it’s too expensive to live here, while actively voting against relief like this.

We need legislators who will put fighting for the needs of the middle-class at the top of their priority list, instead of party politics, and that is not Rob Rolison.
