Robert “Bob” C. Sugameli, a longtime Town of Newburgh resident, entered into rest on Monday, February 17, 2020. He was 79.
Son of the late Ciro and Marian (Giacobbe) Sugameli, he was born on September 22, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY.

Bob was a retired Associate Director with CBS Television in New York, for whom he worked for over 40 years. He proudly served his country with the US Army Reserve and was a life member of the Cronomer Valley Fire Department. During his time volunteering at the fire department, Bob was a member of CVFD Knotchmen, along with their softball and bowling teams.

Bob was a kind and caring man. He was well known for his great sense of humor and his loving ways. His family meant the world to him and he meant the world to his family. He would even take his girls to work with him at CBS when they were little. The love he had for his wife Astrid of 50 years is unmatched. There are so many amazing memories to be cherished. Some of Bob’s favorite things were family get togethers with his caring and crazy Italian family, going to the movies and taking trips to his cabin at Yankee Lake. He enjoyed cooking and his delicious chicken orzo soup was loved by all. He will forever be in his family’s hearts.

Survivors include his loving wife, Astrid (Oehme) Sugameli; two daughters, Tina Sugameli, and Tracy (Mike) Sugameli-Lynn, both of the Town of Newburgh; one brother, Gary Sugameli of Queens; five sisters, Joanne Cucinello of Port Jefferson, Judy Contrino of Stonybrook, Patty Feddern of Queens, Pamela Sugameli-French of Smithtown and Donna Brokus of PA; many nieces and nephews; and the apple of his eye was his granddaughter, Siena Ilona Lynn.

Services were held on Sunday, February 23 at the Cronomer Valley Fire Department with the Rev. Jeffery Hooker officiating. Private Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Arrangements are under the care of White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, Newburgh.
