Structure Fire at 3 Leonard Avenue in Town of Newburgh

Early Sunday morning, Good Will Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3 Leonard Avenue in the Town of Newburgh. Units arrived on the scene to confront a heavy fire concentrated in the attic. In response to the escalating situation, a Second Alarm was promptly sounded, bringing in additional resources including Newburgh Ladder/Fast, Winona Lake Ladder, and Air Guard Engine to the scene.

Deputy Orange Fire Coordinator 36-13 was present at the scene, overseeing the firefighting efforts. Firefighters utilized hand lines and hand tools to combat the blaze, with Central Hudson being called in for a power cut to ensure the safety of responders and residents.

Town of Newburgh Police and EMS were also on-site, managing the situation alongside the fire department. The rear of the residence suffered extensive damage, including the attic. Fortunately, all occupants were able to evacuate the premises safely.

In light of the incident, the Town of Newburgh Fire Inspectors office was summoned to the scene to conduct an investigation. The cause of the fire remains under scrutiny as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
