U-Haul and Engineering and Surveying Properties await reviews and approvals from the Orange County Department of Planning, mainly on their traffic impact study data, and the New York State Department of Transportation. The New Windsor Planning Board was not able to make any determinations during their July 12 meeting due to those approvals having not been received.

The current proposal is for a 47,433 square foot self-storage facility located along Route 32, adjacent to the Washington Green Condominiums. The proposed project was set to be built on an unused parcel reportedly 3.68 acres in total. According to the town, the facility is permitted due to the Highway Commercial (HC) Zoning District while the usage is permitted via a special permit. The proposed facility would include in the design indoor self storage units and additional U-Box storage units.
