Vacant building destroyed in fire

On Friday, November 24 at 12:22 p.m., the City of Newburgh Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from behind 194 Broadway. While responding, the information was updated by City of Newburgh Fire Dispatch for a structure fire at 10-12 Van Ness Street.

On arrival, the vacant structure was fully involved with fire and quickly collapsed. The fire was extinguished by 1:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.

The City of Newburgh Fire Department was assisted on scene by the City of Newburgh Police Department, and Cronomer Valley, Middle Hope, Stewart Air Guard, and West Point Fire Departments.
