Vito Imbasciani of Walden, a retired Administrative Assistant for US Defense Department, Newburgh, NY, and a longtime resident of the area passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in Walden.  He was 98. 

    The son of the late Dominick Imbasciani and Frances Gasparo Imbasciani, he was born August 22, 1921 in New York City.

   He served in the Marines during World War II as a rear gunner in a B25 in the Pacific.  He also served 37 years in the Army Reserves. 

   He was a member of Catholic Veteran's Association and the Walden Historical Society.   

   He was the widower of Florence Mary Imbasciani.

   Survivors include his sons Dr. Vito Imbasciani and his husband George DeSalvo of Los Angeles, CA and Michael F. Imbasciani and his wife Barbara of Walden, Daughter, Doreen Marie Auchmoody and her husband Robert of Port Jervis, Grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Janine, Molly, Josh, Isaak, & Raymond

Great Grandchildren: Ian, Rayna and Nico; sisters Antonette Imbasciani of Ankeny, Iowa and Anna Marie Kaufman of Lincoln, RI; brother  Onofrio "Rocco" Imbasciani and cousins Patricia Lukaczyn & her husband Peter of Newburgh and Sandra Boes of Hopewell Junction

He was predeceased by Sisters, Elizabeth DeRosa, Domenica LaRosa, Frances (Grace) Huey, and Pauline Laurino.    

Graveside services will be at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
