City of Newburgh Water Superintendent Wayne Vradenburgh presented to the city council a resolution to amend the 2023 Personnel Analysis Book on Monday, November 20. The resolution would add one Assistant Maintenance Mechanic position on a temporary basis in the Water Division.

According to Vradenburgh, the reason for this amendment was due to an employee of the department having been on an extended leave for some time. The item will go to vote before the city council on Monday, November 27.

The duties of the Assistant Maintenance Mechanic are to assist the Water Maintenance Mechanic with construction and other department mechanical and maintenance tasks. Vradenburgh proudly shared with the city council that when he was 17/18 years old, he started his career as an Assistant Maintenance Mechanic and worked his way up to the water superintendent position.
