I’m writing to share why I’m running with Kelly Allegra, New Windsor Town Clerk. Community involvement was important to both of us before we took office, that’s why we feel so strongly about supporting and representing our New Windsor Community.

Kelly’s previous community involvement includes being a Board Member of Independent Living, Chair of Government Relations MS Society, Board member of Orange County MS Walk, Family Selection Committee member for Habitat for Humanity, Cornwall Parent Teacher Organization Treasurer, and Founder and Administrator of the Cornwall Lego League.

It’s that level of community dedication that makes Kelly a unique and effective Town Clerk. When Covid hit, Kelly and her team never stopped serving residents and found creative ways to help support their very special and sensitive needs.

When Kelly learned that seniors were having a difficult time securing covid vaccination appointments, Kelly and her team jumped into action and personally booked appointments for them.

Kelly has been a great source of information at town events including the Senior Wellness Fair, Community Day, National Night Out and the New Windsor Farmers Market. It says something when you’re able to share new information with residents who have lived here for 40 and 70 years.

Kelly does her best to help residents every day, ensuring that every transaction is handled with care and fidelity. Her commitment to community and to help provide resources is what makes her an effective Town Clerk.
