ROAD CLOSING NOTICE
COUNTY ROAD 20 (ORRS MILLS ROAD)
TOWN OF CORNWALL and BLOOMING GROVE
COUNTY OF ORANGE
The undersigned Commissioner of Public Works of the County of Orange does hereby close all that portion of County Road 20 (Orrs Mills Road) in the Town of Cornwall and Blooming Grove, Orange County, New York. Beginning at the intersection of Clove Road and County Route 20 (Orrs Mills Road) and running in a easterly direction along County Road 20 (Orrs Mills Road) approximately 1.5 miles underneath the Moodna Viaduct to the intersection of Jackson Avenue and County Route 20 (Orrs Mills Road) for the purpose of allowing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, its agents or contractors, to perform repairs/restorations/replacements of timber members along the Moodna Viaduct and do all such work as required. Said closing being effective by the conspicuous posting of "Road Closed" signs on or about Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10:00 PM through Monday, May 6, 2024 at 5:00 AM.
Said county road will be closed to all through traffic for the duration indicated above (approximately 2days weekend of May 4 and 5) in accordance with the provisions of Section 104 of the Highway Law. Appropriate traffic control devices, in accordance with the provisions of the National Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and the New York State Supplement, will be in place and detour routes will be prominently marked. In the case of inclement weather or other unforeseen problems, this period of time may be modified or extended as needed.
Normal through traffic using this portion of County Road 20 (Orrs Mills Road) should use alternate routes or signed detour routing that will utilize Clove Road, New York State (NYS) Route 94, and Jackson Avenue.
