No matter where you live, communities across the United States will celebrate Veterans Day this November 11, honoring the individuals who fought and sacrificed themselves for their country’s freedom. Here’s a breakdown of events coming to your area:

Montgomery
The Town of Montgomery will host an outdoor ceremony on Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m. near the Carl L. Helstrom Government Center on 110 Bracken Road, commemorating the veterans who served under the center.

The Montgomery Senior Center and Orange County Office for the Aging will host their annual Veteran’s Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, November 16 at noon in the center on 36 Bridge Street. All veterans are welcome and should call (845) 457-9367 to reserve a seat.

Walden

The Village of Walden will host its 13th Annual Brick Dedication and Rededication Ceremony on Sunday, November at 1 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park on 150 West Main Street. This event will feature speeches and integrate bricks inscribed with the names of local veterans into the park.

Crawford
The Village of Pine Bush will host its Veterans Day ceremony and parade on Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m. in Push Bush Town Park. For more information, contact Dan Dambrozio at ddambrozio@yahoo.com.

The Pine Bush Library will host a celebration on Friday, November 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. in its community center; it will include music, refreshments, and guest speaker Christian Farrell, director of the Orange County Veterans Service Agency. The library will also host a cursory study on World War II on Saturday, November 18 at 1 p.m., presented by Jeff Cierniak. Wallkill

The Rose-Sheeley Post 1034 American Legion of Wallkill will host a Veterans Day celebration on Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m. in Shawangunk Town Hall’s community room. The event will feature refreshments and Anthony P. Galioto, Master Sergeant from the 137th Airlift Squadron of Stewert Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, as a guest speaker.
