Charlie’s childhood was spent in Winthrop, Massachusetts where he discovered a knack for all things mechanical. He loved his motorcycles and working on old cars. He also showed, from an early age, a strong work ethic. His first job was at the Ritz Carlton in Boston where he served as an elevator operator and valet; quickly ascending to Superintendent of Service. While at The Ritz, Charlie’s reputation as a hard worker was noticed by the owner of Warren Equities, Inc; who offered him a position as salesman at Kenyon Oil Co. in Putnam Connecticut and from there he was transferred to Newburgh, New York to become President and General Manager of Mid-Valley Petroleum. Upon leaving Mid-Valley he became General Manager of Big Saver, Inc. in Montgomery, New York.

Charlie and his wife Gloria were married for over 60 years and raised a large family.

They had many adventures together including skiing, traveling, and boating on Lake Winnipesaukee. Upon retirement, Charlie and Gloria moved to Daytona Beach Shores where they enjoyed time on their motorcycles, in their motor home and with friends. Charlie and Gloria were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A man of strong convictions; Charlie also had a soft spot in his heart for those less fortunate than himself, often lending his time, housing, food and offering work to those in need.
