Looking for a Halloween costume this spooky season? Junk Babes Vintage, an antique store on 150 East Main Street in Walden, will be giving away over 150 costumes on October 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. These costumes will range in sizes for all ages, and everyone is welcome to visit the shop and pick one out.

This ghoulish giveaway originally started last year when Junk Babes’ owners Krissy Karros and Denise Gualtieri moved into the store’s building and found heaps of Halloween costumes, among other household merchandise. The two plotted a terrifying tradition and decided to donate these goodies to the community.

“When we first moved into the building, it was filled with all kinds of stuff, costumes being one of them…when we were cleaning out the building we decided to salvage everything and donate what we could,” Karros said.

“One of the things we had a lot of was Halloween costumes, so that prompted us to do our first giveaway,” she continued.

Since then, Karros and Gualtieri have been on the hunt for more costumes, expanding their selection of wicked and whimsical wares so that they could host another giveaway.

“And then it went so great, over the course of the last year, we’ve been collecting costumes and thrifting costumes and buying them after everything was on clearance so we could do it again,” Karros said.
