On Thursday, May 26 East Coldenham held the 6th Annual Walk a Mile for Children’s Mental Health.  Organized by Student Assistance Counselor Allie Riker, students had the opportunity to collect pledge money from family and friends to be donated to Voices United for Change, a not for profit organization that provides support, knowledge and resources to meet the social, emotional, behavioral and educational needs of families, youth and young adults in Orange County. A total of $1,367 was raised, which topped last year’s donation of $1,000.  “We will continue to hold this important annual event to raise awareness about children’s mental health and perpetuate the conversation about reducing the stigma that so often surrounds mental health issues,” Riker said.
