Elizabeth “Liz” Kane-Leahy, of Maybrook, passed away March 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. 

 Liz was born in Beacon, to the late Grace and Raymond Kane. After her graduation from Roy C. Ketcham High School, Liz attended and graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics in 1982. After several years with General Electric (GE), Liz went on to work as a transportation industry sales executive at Ryder. 

 On October 24, 1987, Liz married her life partner and loving husband Dennis Leahy at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. 

 A loving wife, mother, sister and friend, Liz is survived by Dennis and their three children Sean, Alyssa, Dylan, her daughter-in-law Diana, her grandchildren Harper and Donovan, her loving and supportive sisters Margaret Kane and Mary Hooker, and the rest of the Leahy family; including her favorite yellow Labrador, Baileigh. She is predeceased by her aforementioned parents and brother Kevin Kane. 

 Among her hobbies, Liz enjoyed traveling to warmer weather, dancing at outdoor concert venues with friends, photographing moments with her grandchildren, and the quietude of a book. Most of all, creating timeless memories with her family. 

 Calling hours will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29 from 4 - 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls on Thursday, March 30 at 10 a.m.

 Liz persevered through the last five years battling ovarian cancer with the assistance of many doctors, nurses, and supporters alike. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Liz’s name to a women’s cancer research foundation of your choice.
