Gardiner to hold public hearing on tourism-related uses

Posted

The Town of Gardiner Town Board will hold a public hearing on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 2340 Route 44/45 in Gardiner, to consider revisions to the proposed local law entitled “A Local Law to Amend Chapter 220 and Chapter 200 of the Town Code of the Town of Gardiner Regulating Certain Tourism Related Accommodation Uses”. Since the law was first introduced by the town board on Oct. 24, 2019, they have considered a local law and are now proposing a revised version that includes several changes.

The newly proposed revisions include, but are not limited to, additional changes to the definitions of “lodging facility”, “resort” and “low impact recreation”. The revisions also propose to allow campgrounds to offer non-seasonal, transient lodging in permanent structures if permitted by the town board in an approved Campground Floating District.

A full copy of the proposed Local Law is available at the Town Hall, and at townofgardiner.org.
