Help out a local senior

Posted

Whether you’re interested in volunteer work or just want to give back to local seniors, the Town of Montgomery Seniors Independence Project (TOMSIP) is a great place to start.

Volunteers have a chance to help seniors with grocery shopping, transportation, wellness calls, visits, light chores and more in the town and its three villages. The Town of Montgomery partners with the Office for the Aging and Jewish Family Services of Orange County to make this happen.

On Tuesday, January 17 a 90-minute zoom training session will be held at 5:30 p.m. to provide volunteers with specific preparations for the role. Background checks and insurance (while doing the volunteer work) are both provided as well.

To reserve for the zoom session, or for more general information, call 845-457-4138 or 845-341-1173 ext. 305. You can also email volunteer@jfsorange.org. There will be more zoom training sessions available in the future.
