On Nov. 14, the Montgomery Senior Center, in conjunction with the O.C. Office for the Aging, hosted its second annual Veteran’s Appreciation Luncheon. It was a very special day. The Center was filled to capacity with Veterans and their families (from WWII to the present day) who were honored for their services to and sacrifices made for our country … resulting in the freedoms we enjoy.

Master of Ceremonies Pat Kelleher called for everyone to “consciously embrace our pride … knowing that in this wonderful community we call home … patriotism remains a virtue, not a vice” and is “something that may not always be worn on our sleeves, but is a constant in our hearts”.

This sentiment was expressed by the numerous volunteers who assisted, as well as the tremendous support received from the Montgomery business community. November 14 was a day where appreciation for the liberties we enjoy, and pride in the local heroes who provided these freedoms, was on full display at the Montgomery Senior Center.
