James Yovino of Bloomingburg passed away Sunday May 28, 2023. Son of Vincenzo(Jim) and Beatrice Yovino, he was born August 28, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. He passed at home surrounded by his family.

James was a retiree of the NYC Sanitation Department. He devoted his life to his family, especially his grandchildren and he had a genuine heart for giving. One of his greatest accomplishments was his love for the Lord. He spent many years donating his time with the Salvation Army – street ministry; spreading God’s word no matter where or when. He wanted everyone to know about salvation through Jesus and was always ready to hand out a bible with a personally written note from him inside the cover and pray over you. He had an incredible passion for riding horses, fishing, drawing, long walks, and good cuisine. He will be lovingly remembered forever.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadette Yovino, son, Michael Yovino, daughter, Angela Yovino Weil and her Husband Arthur Weil; 3 Grandaughters Krystal, Kelli and Kim; 4 Great-grandchildren.   

 He was predeceased by his mother Beatrice Yovino, father Jim Yovino, brother Philip Yovino, and son Vincent Yovino.

A graveside service was held Saturday, June 3 at Circleville Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or mass cards, donations can be made to Amazing Grace Church, 20 Warn Avenue, Pine Bush NY  12566.  All proceeds will go to feeding the needy, youth group, etc.
