Joan Marie Rutan of Montgomery, NY passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Mid-Hudson Valley Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 83.
The daughter of the late William and Catherine McMurray Zimmerman, she was born on April 6, 1938 in Harrisburg, PA. She was a secretarial clerk for the Town of Ramsey, NJ. She was the widow of the late Robert Ruppert and the late Robert Rutan. Joan was a member of the Church of the Assumption and a religious instructor at the Church of the Assumption, Maybrook, NY.
Joan is survived by her son, Steven Diehl and his wife, Kimberly of Staatsburg; daughter, Karen Rapp and her husband, Mike of Pawling; grandchildren, Joseph, Donna, Nicole, Ryan and Amber; great grandchildren, Bennett, Freya, and Fallon; nieces and nephews.
Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
Services and burial of her ashes will take place at 2 pm, Saturday, June 11th at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery.
