Lucia Malatesta of Wallkill passed away peacefully at home Thursday, December 23, 2021. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Antonio DelleRose and Anna Antinucce DelleRose, she was born May 25, 1939 in Abruzzi, Italy.
Lucia was a retired seamstress with Lady's Garment Workers, Union Local 89, New York, NY. She attended Most Precious Blood, Walden. Lucia was an avid gardener and loved cooking and dancing. She also worked at her son’s pizzeria, “Rob’s”, and the Wallkill Greenhouse.
She was the widow of Nicola Anthony Malatesta.
Survivors include her son Robert Malatesta of Wallkill; daughter Roseann Mitchell of Wallkill; five Grandchildren Joseph, Christopher, Pasquale, Nicholas, Emma; Brothers Gino DelleRose and wife Frances and Pasquale DelleRose
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Diana, brother Giuseppi DelleRose and son-in-law Russell Mitchell.
Cremation will take place privately. Burial will be with her husband in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
