Makenzie Isabella Bergen was born on February 26, 2010 and is now soaring with the Angels as of  November 11, 2022.

Makenzie was loved by everyone who met her. Her smile and bubbly personality were infectious. She worked through her disability and all of her limitations to be the best that she could always be, and in all ways. Everyone loved her and was encouraged by her stubbornness and strong will to succeed. She had the ability to brighten absolutely every single person's day as soon as she came into a room. Her love, smile, and absolute adoration could melt your heart in a second. Through all of the things she had to endure, she fought through absolutely every single thing, and came out of it with a smile on her face.

Makenzie and her sisters had the most exquisite relationship and loved each other with every ounce of their beings. Her face lit up every time she knew they were going to be doing crafts, or having sleep overs together. Quality time was their favorite and it didn’t matter what they were doing as long as they did it together. Makenzie, Nana, and Grampy had the most precious relationship. Grampy would read stories, play the guitar, walk to the bridge (with all of the girls), and Makenzie’s favorite, he would rock her to sleep at night before bed. Nana had the hardest job, she took care of all of Makenzie’s needs big and small, and loved her more than anything.

Also a huge thank you to all of her teachers who helped her succeed and reach her full potential. She is, and will be missed immensely, but she will always and forever know how much she was loved throughout her time with us. She is now with all of her favorite people up there, to love and take care of her. Makenzie leaves behind her devastated family. Father and Stepmother, Michael and Bailey Bergen. Sisters, Peyton, Paisley, Harper, and Hazel. She was the most precious princess to her grandparents and caregivers, Douglas and Judith Pulver, as well as her grandparents, Lonnie and Colleen Steinhilber, Phyllis DeFreese and her Fiancé Devin Schiaroli, and John and Beverly Bergen, her last great grandparent, Kenneth Steinhilber, her uncle, Jason Bergen and many other aunts and uncles. Makenzie is further survived by her cousin, Randolph Steinhilber, who she absolutely adored, along with many other cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 15,from 4-7pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY 12566. Services will begin at 6:30pm at the funeral home.
