New billing system saves Walden $10K

The Village of Walden’s September 5 board meeting featured a wealth of updates for the area, from upcoming plans and events to public comments from several residents.

During his report, Village Manager John Revella announced that Walden’s Harvest Fest will return on September 30, and a dedication for late resident Samuel Wright will be revealed on October 15. Additionally, Revella clarified changes to Walden’s invoice system, which recently switched to a new mail provider.

“We were using a company called Towne Mailer, now we’re using a new company…they’re being returned and receded to a post office in New Jersey, and then they’re getting sent to us in a file. For the ones that are mailed,” Revella explained, adding this change saves the village $10,000 annually since they no longer need to pay for mailing.

In response, Trustee Ralph Garrison Jr. proposed that the board release a Q&A on the village’s Facebook page to clear up any further confusion that residents may have.
