Mackenzie Gula and Katie Webster each won two individual events and were on two winning relays, as they led the Pine Bush Bushmen to a first-place finish at the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association Division II girls’ swimming and diving championships on Saturday at Washingtonville High School.

The Bushmen scored 501 points, 141 points ahead of second-place Monroe-Woodbury. The Valley Central Vikings took third place with 337 points, and the Wallkill Panthers were ninth with 93 points.

Webster won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle with respective times of 24.77 seconds and 100-yard freestyle, while Gula won the 200-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 1:57.82 and a state qualifying time of 58.79 to win the 100-yard butterfly.

Ashley Martin also qualified for the New York State Federation meet when she finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.80. She also took fourth place in the 200-yard individual medley.
Ella Humphrey won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.21 and Sadie DeGeorge won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:15.42. She also was second in the 500-yard freestyle.

The Bushmen also swept all three relay events. Overall, the Bushmen won nine of 12 events.

Maya Oakes was second in the 100-yard backstroke and sixth in the 200-yard individual medley, a season best 2:23.60.

Alanah Giannini was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, while Norah Germano was sixth in the 500- and 200-yard freestyle events.

Nina Camacho swam two season best times when she finished 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.94 and 13th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:21.40.

The Bushmen posted 17 personal best times.

Emmy White posted Valley Central’s top swim when she finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.85. She also was fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Samantha Messing was third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.18. She also took seventh in the 200-yard individual medley.

Olivia Messing was fifth in the 100-yard freestyle and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle.

Molly Hoover was 12th in the 100-yard freestyle, and Peyton Messing was 13th. Messing was 10th in the 200-yard freestyle.

Samantha Thompson was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle, and Kaidyn Thompson finished right behind her in ninth place. She also took seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke, two places ahead of teammate Ireland Fogarty.

Chelsea Degon was 17th in the 100-yard freestyle and 20th in the 50-yard freestyle.

Kaidyn Thompson swam two season bests and Madison Roszkowski’s 30.77 in the 50-yard freestyle also was a season best.

Andie Psilopoulos led Wallkill when she won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:16.11. She also took second in the 200-yard freestyle. She continued to improve upon her school record in the 200-yard freestyle with her 1:58.46 finish. She also knocked two seconds off her 500-yard freestyle record.

Kaitlyn Bonner was sixth in the 100-yard butterfly and ninth in the 100-yard backstroke.
