Vision of Wallkill’s Annual Weekend of Wallkill (WOW) is happening in the Hamlet of Wallkill on September 22 and 23 to celebrate our community. Residents near and far are welcomed to these two days of family-friendly events and many of Wallkill’s best for all to enjoy. With free admission to the public, there will be various exhibits, contests and games taking place throughout the weekend on or near the Wallkill Public Library. Friday night kicks off at 5 p.m. with Lego Sculpture Building and Story Time sponsored by Wallkill Public Library, followed by a Fall Egg Hunt for children. Meanwhile, the “Beauty of Wallkill” Art Show will be open for all to see and vote for their favorite entry. A free chair yoga session starts at 7 p.m. Friday evening events are at the Shawangunk Town Hall or the lawn at the Wallkill Public Library.

Artisans of all levels and all media are invited to enter their artwork for the Beauty of Wallkill Contest and Art Show by September 15, including paintings, drawing, photographs, jewelry and other original works.

The Weekend of Wallkill celebration continues Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a multitude of events including the “Wonka’s Wonder” show, a Mad Scientist themed scavenger hunt, Touch-A-Truck, pony rides and a petting zoo. Other fan favorites happening are: Remote-Control Car Race, Science Corner, Pickle Ball demonstration, Billy Goat Bingo and contests: Dog Costume, Potato Peeling and Floral Centerpiece. The library lawn will be dotted with vendor booths and food trucks showcasing Hudson Valley’s delights. The public is encouraged to stop by the Golden Rule Thrift Shop in the hamlet. Dine alfresco at Popp Memorial Park for a Steak Dinner organized by Wallkill Lions Club. End the day by bringing the family and chairs to Garrison Park to watch the spectacular fireworks.
