Southern Catskill Anglers present Fly Tying Sundays at the library

The Southern Catskill Anglers, in collaboration with the Pine Bush Library Community Center, are excited to announce the commencement of “Fly Tying Sundays,” a series of beginner fly tying classes for enthusiasts aged 8 and up. The classes will take place every Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Pine Bush Library Community Center, starting on January 7 and continuing through January 28.

The Fly Tying Sundays program is designed for beginners and welcomes participants of all ages, including scouts and 4-H members. The classes aim to provide a unique and educational experience, fostering a passion for fly tying and angling in a friendly and inclusive environment.

Highlights of the Fly Tying Sundays program include:
• Beginner classes tailored for individuals aged 8 and up.

• Sessions on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pine Bush Library Community Center.
• Open to everyone, including scouts and 4-H members.
• To sign up, interested individuals are encouraged to email scanglers@gmail.com.
• Cost: $5 total for youths, $20 for adults. High school students with ID receive a discount.
• Club members enjoy a special discount.
• No prior experience necessary; all materials will be provided.
• Participants will create two new flies each class and leave with a total of four flies they made themselves.
